Planning a transpacific crossing
Pacific crossings can span very different distances and endpoints. Compare the start and end countries, voyage length and listed stopovers; check the local arrival date on the operator’s itinerary before arranging onward travel.
The calendar below summarizes the 168 upcoming sailings currently listed here. It describes this catalogue, rather than predicting the cruise lines’ complete schedules. Open a route below to compare its ships and endpoints, or compare individual transpacific sailings and fares.
Compare the actual Pacific route
Transpacific is a broad category. A voyage between North America and Asia has different endpoints from a Hawaii-to-Australia sailing. Compare the full route, not just the category name, and check whether the listed voyage is a complete cruise or a separately bookable segment.
Check sea days and local calendar dates
Long Pacific passages can include extended periods at sea. Royal Caribbean’s Hawaii-to-Sydney itinerary includes an International Date Line crossing. Use your own sailing’s day-by-day itinerary and local arrival date when arranging flights; the number of nights alone does not describe every calendar-date change or stop.
Choose a season for your itinerary
Conditions differ across the North Pacific and South Pacific. Royal Caribbean recommends May to October for its South Pacific guidance and identifies the Southern Hemisphere summer as cyclone season. This is operator guidance rather than a guarantee for all Pacific routes. Compare the listed months below and check the operator’s advice for your destinations.
Budget for a one-way holiday
Compare cabin category, occupancy, inclusions and cancellation conditions alongside the total fare. Add flights at both endpoints, transfers and any pre- or post-cruise hotel. Confirm your boarding deadline and disembarkation arrangements before committing to connecting travel; ask the operator about internet packages if connectivity matters during long sea passages.
